When the colony came into view, memories came
flooding back. But something was missing. It was almost like the place
had been abandoned. Where were all the people - and the children that
used to be playing everywhere?
We stopped into the general store to get some supplies. It used
to be a busy place - now it was very quiet.
I think the road was largely responsible for changing the social
nature of the colony as I remembered it.
After driving around the colony, we headed for the landing and
had our picnic. |
