1995 - February
We drove to Fort Wilderness Lodge
from Ontario. |
This was our last trip to Walt Disney World
while we still lived in Ontario. We drove our Mercury Villager van and stayed in
a Fort Wilderness cabin. We hadn't foreseen our move to Vancouver Island later
in the year and even if we had, Walt Disney World would still be a designation
of choice - even if it would be a little harder to get there.
1996 - October
We flew from BC - stayed in
Disney's Yacht Club Resort |
|
1996, we were "Guests of Honor"
|
.
|
|
|
Walt Disney World was
celebrating its 25th anniversary and offered anyone who had visited
during the early years a special offer - it was an offer we couldn't
refuse. We were declared Guests of Honor.
|
For this visit, we stayed in the Disney
Yacht Club Resort. What makes this Resort special
are all
the unique swimming areas and its
close proximity to the EPCOT Center.

1998 - March
We drove to WDW
from British Columbia and stayed in a Fort Wilderness cabin. |
WDW was just one stop in a major trip
across North America. We didn't take any pictures at WDW, but here is a
picture on Daytona Beach - on our way to Disney World.

1999 - November
WDW's Millennium
celebration! We flew from BC & stayed in a FW cabin |
The Millennium year at WDW
-
We visit WDW and experience
the Millennium celebrations.
In November 1999, we
flew to Orlando to spend some quality time in Florida. Of
course a visit to Walt Disney World was part of the plan.
One again, we stayed in a cabin in the Fort Wilderness
Resort. |
|
WDW had started
their millennium calibrations and they included a
great parade around the World Showcase at the EPCOT centre.
Below is the
Millennium clock and other parade floats and characters.
This was also our
first exposure to Disney Pin Trading.

One result of our WDW experience in 1999 was the start of our lanyard
and Disney pin collection.

2004 - October
We drove to Fort Wilderness Lodge
from Ontario. |
Fort Wilderness Lodge
In
October 2004 we drove our rented car from Petawawa, Ontario,
where we were visiting Denny and Grace - to Florida and WDW's Fort Wilderness
Lodge.
|
|
Fort Wilderness Lodge
is on the shore of Bay Lake and is part of the Fort
wilderness Resort. These three pictures show the
Lodge as you approach by boat, the lobby, and the
view of the central pool area from our room. |
|
|
Here are two more pictures
taken from our room. On the left is Jackie bringing us our
morning coffee - and below is a view of the Lodge's boat
dock.
|
The best way to get anywhere, or at least the most
interesting way, is by boat. Lots of these small boats
connect the various Resorts around Bay Lake and the Seven
Seas Lagoon.
Above - Jackie is enjoying the trip from the Fort Wilderness
Lodge to wherever it is we are going
To the right is the boat dock at the Magic Kingdom.

And here are a couple pictures
taken around WDW.

One of the Mickeys you will find just about anywhere.
|
|
And yes, it does rain in
Disney World - but never for very long.
.
And we never miss
riding on the Walt Disney Railroad.
