e1980 - May     Our first visit to Disneyland
 Disneyland is a long way from Ontario, Canada. We had no plans to visit, but in May of 1980, we flew to Las Angeles to attend a convention in Anaheim. There were about 5,000 attendees and the organizers had rented the Magic Kingdom for an evening. We quickly discovered that Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom in WDW are quite different - so the debate began - which one is the better park. We will have to go back to both many times to find out.

Magic Kingdom in WDW. But we discovered a
couple rides that did not exist in WDW.

There was the Matterhorn where
we got a bit wet.

 

   Big Thunder Mountain became our favourite ride - we went around a few times.

Disneyland was fun - but we wouldn't get back here until 2001.

   We moved from Ontario to Vancouver Island in November, 1995. We started exploring the west coast immediately, but it took us six and a half years before we finally went back to Disneyland.  The trigger that caused this to happen was the opening of Disney's California Adventure.

   At the entrance to the park, Jackie gives Engineer Mickey a big hug!

   Surprise! Disney California Adventure has only been open a short while and is not very busy!

e2002 - February     three day visit - Stayed off-site
This visit we stayed off-site at a good neighbor hotel. Visiting the parks was fun, but staying on-site is the way to go. That's what we'll do next time.

Disneyland is celebrating 50 years - we celebrated
by doing the Hollywood Tower a few times

 

No photography allowed, but I decided to take a picture when the shutter opened at the top of the Tower and got a view of the park. The ride camera caught me in the act.
One of the great places to eat at the California Adventure Park.

 2007 - February     Day visit to Downtown Disney (on our way to San Diego)

 

This was a stop to do some trading and add too our growing collection of Disney pins.

2007 - November     Stayed off site and spent two days in Disneyland

   This was a stop on the way to Las Vegas. In Vegas we were going to meet friends and family to celebrate our 50 years together.
